Stabilized blanks

What is stabilized wood blanks? 
​Wood fibers from witch  all the air captured in the wood  cell, is eliminated  by vacuum and replaced with a heat cured stabilizing  resin.
​The blank will  gain up to 50%  more weight , become much harder and is nearly 100% waterproof.
